Limbo
I’m itching to rip down some walls. We’ll need to gut the attic space prior to start of construction and I’m interested to examine the beams and rafters and see if there are any treasures hidden under the insulation or floorboards. :) I’d also like to see what’s under the existing kitchen and bath flooring. There are 2 more walls of painted over wallpaper to strip as well, which may lead to some surprises as well.
In other news, my husband is the best. We can finally take a shower without standing in 6-8″ of water by the end of it! There was the nastiest clog in the old corroded pipe trap. We snaked it, we used hair/grease dissolver (last resort) and finally just had to replace the whole tub drain. It looks nice, no leaks, and will last us until the bath is completely remodeled.
Our general contractor had subs in this week to give bids so we can get the final price tag on the project. This is all we are waiting for to continue on the loan process as well. I’m also waiting on more documentation from the structural engineer to continue getting our permits.
I feel sort of stuck in limbo until we can sign a contract. It doesn’t help that its been getting dark earlier and earlier and the rainy season seems to have started. I’ve been so tired all week. No motivation to work on house projects what so ever.

I think that winter does that to a lot of people. It just drains you of all your energy and you just want to sit down with a mug of hot chocolate and relax. I know that’s how I feel anyway! hehe.
